Westwood Elementary is starting a new policy for the 2025–2026 school year that bans devices in the classroom to help students focus and socialize more. In February 2026, the school held workshops to help kids learn how to have safe relationships. Westwood also continues to provide a nurturing environment through its highly sought-after Early Learning programs.
Q1. Are there any specific partnerships between Westwood Elementary School and local high schools for programs that help students learn or mentor each other?
Ans. Yes, the school works with local high school students who help younger students with their homework and give them advice after school.
Q2. What is Westwood Elementary School's official policy on students bringing their own toys or electronic games to school?
Ans. Students are asked to leave their own toys and electronic games at home during the school day so that they don't lose them or get distracted in class.
Q3. How does Westwood Elementary School make sure that all of its students can eat healthy and nutritious meals during the school day?
Ans. The school takes part in federal meal programs that give all students, no matter how much money their family makes, balanced breakfast and lunch options.
Q4. Are there any after-school clubs at Westwood Elementary School that focus on raising awareness about the environment and gardening on campus?
Ans. The "Earth Club" at the school lets students take care of the campus garden and work on projects that help the environment and encourage recycling.
Q5. What kinds of drills for physical safety does Westwood Elementary School do to get students and staff ready for different kinds of emergencies?
Ans. The school holds regular fire, earthquake, and lockdown drills so that everyone on campus knows exactly what to do in an emergency.
