In early 2026, Don Callejon students were in the SCUSD Spotlights for their outstanding work in and out of the classroom. The school is getting ready for the 2025–2026 school year by making a new rule that says no devices are allowed in the K–8 environment. This is to get kids to be more involved. Staff and students also took part in the 2026 NFL Play Football family festival to encourage people in the community to be active.
