Montevideo Elementary is a public school in San Ramon that serves about 612 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The school has a student-to-teacher ratio of about 25:1, which means that classes are a little bigger than those at some nearby schools. The students come from a wide range of cultural and economic backgrounds, just like the city itself. According to academic data, about 75% of students are good at math and about 81% are at or above grade level in reading. The school puts a lot of focus on structured literacy instruction, math fluency, and enrichment programs that help students do better in school. The amount of money spent on each student is in line with what the district gives to public elementary schools. Montevideo Elementary is located in a suburban area known for having stable housing markets and a good reputation in the community. The school does well academically, especially in reading, and is always looking for ways to improve its teaching. This school is now known as one of the top elementary schools in California.
