Discovery Elementary fourth and fifth-grade students in the GATE program recently received an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of Legoland California’s new Galacticoaster after months of designing their own roller coasters CBS 8 San Diego. The school has officially opened enrollment for new Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten students for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year Discovery Elementary. Volunteers are being welcomed back to campus under the updated 2025-2026 district volunteer program guidelines.
Q1. Does Discovery Elementary have a program for students who are smart and talented?
Ans. The school has GATE clusters where students work on advanced projects, such as designing roller coasters for competitions in the area.
Q2. What is "Discovery Elementary's" policy on students using electronic devices?
Ans. Students must keep their personal devices in their backpacks during school hours so they can stay focused on their lessons.
Q3. Does Discovery Elementary School hold any science-themed events for families?
Ans. Every year, the campus has a Family Science Night where students show off their experiments and do hands-on activities.
Q4. What does Discovery Elementary do in the classroom for students' birthdays?
Ans. The school encourages non-food celebrations like giving a book or sharing a special craft to help people stay healthy.
Q5. Does Discovery Elementary have any ways for kids to learn in the garden?
Ans. The campus garden program teaches students about plant biology and eco-friendly ways to live while they are in school.
