Sartorette Charter is a public K–5 charter school in San Jose, California, which is a big city. The school has 287 students and a student-teacher ratio of about 20:1, which is a little better than the district average. It has 14 full-time equivalent teachers who help with teaching and student development. Half of the students are female and half are male. Twenty-two percent of the students come from low-income families. The school is a good example of a diverse community because it has a lot of minority students. It has a standards-based core curriculum and enrichment programs that help students learn more, become leaders, and get involved. Recent state tests show that 52% of students are good at math and 57% are good at reading, which is higher than the state average. Funding per student is in line with district standards and helps pay for both classroom instruction and extra programs. Overall, Sartorette Charter serves a diverse and academically capable student body while keeping the school environment welcoming and supportive. This shows that the school is still making progress in helping students do well in school and getting involved in their community.

The Hispanic Student Achievement and Family Engagement Program at Sartorette Charter in San Jose, California, is getting a lot of attention for how well it works!
