Adelante Dual Language Academy II in San Jose, California, is getting a lot of attention because it is so dedicated to teaching kids two languages and getting them involved in the community. The events at the school, such as Family Friday Art Night and the EL/ML Parent Townhall Meeting, that help kids learn and grow. Adelante wants students to do well, and these programs help them make friends.
The Alum Rock Union School District is trying to fix its budget problems and low enrollment. Keep in mind that next year the school will join forces with Adelante Dual Language Academy. Even though things have changed, Adelante Dual Language Academy II is still dedicated to making the school a safe place to learn and helping students become bilingual, biliterate, and strong in school.
Q1. What does Adelante Dual Language Academy II do to help people learn two languages?
Ans. The school teaches English and Spanish in a way that makes them feel like they are really learning. They do this by doing things together, like group projects, that help them get better at speaking, reading, and knowing about other cultures.
Q2. What kinds of programs can families join?
Ans. Families are welcome to take part in bilingual workshops, cultural events, and opportunities to volunteer. These activities help students get to know each other better and learn about other cultures.
Q3. How does the school help students learn more?
Ans. Students can join STEM clubs, work on art projects, take on leadership roles, and solve problems to learn more, be more creative, and get better at practical skills.
Q4. Are there programs that help people become better at making friends and dealing with their feelings?
Ans. Some of the programs that help students learn how to be kind, aware of their feelings, and get along with others in safe spaces are mindfulness activities, peer mentoring, and group discussions.
Q5. How do teachers get kids interested in art and culture?
Ans. Art shows, music shows, theater projects, and cultural celebrations are all great ways for students to be creative, show who they are, and learn about other cultures.
