About Adelante Dual Language Academy

Adelante Dual Language Academy is a public K–8 school in San Jose, California. It is in a big city and is part of the Alum Rock Union Elementary School District. There are about 498 students at the school, and about 25 full-time equivalent teachers and one full-time school counselor work there. This means that there is a student-to-teacher ratio of 20:1, which is the same as the district average. Adelante Dual Language Academy is known for its dual language immersion program, which teaches English and Spanish at the same time and focuses on bilingualism, biliteracy, and understanding other cultures. The student body is made up of people from many different backgrounds, with most of them coming from minority groups. The enrollment data show that the gender distribution is pretty even, with 52% of students being female and 48% being male. About 57% of students come from low-income families. U.S. News says that about 39% of students meet or exceed math proficiency standards, while 45% meet or exceed reading (ELA) standards. There isn't any data on how much money each student gets at the school level, but the funding is in line with what other public schools in the district get.
