TECA really encourages kids to think for themselves, learn two languages, and grow emotionally and socially through group work and hands-on activities.A lot of the kids at TECA are Hispanic and come from minority groups. They're not doing as well in school as the average student in the state; only 19% are good at math and 29% are good at reading. This shows that they need more help in those areas. TECA has 22 students for every teacher, which means that teachers can work with small groups and give each student their full attention. People know TECA for its dual-language program, its work with the community, and its commitment to helping kids grow in all kinds of ways, even though their test scores aren't the best.
