New Traditions Elementary School is a public elementary school in San Francisco, California. It is part of the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD). The school has about 260 to 270 students and teaches kids from kindergarten to fifth grade. It has a student-teacher ratio of 30 to 1, which is similar to the larger class sizes found in some urban public schools. New Traditions is known for its unique approach to education, which combines visual arts, music, and performance with core subjects like English Language Arts, math, science, and social studies. The curriculum focuses on working together, being creative, and community values, which helps students grow both academically and socially. The student body is somewhat diverse, with students from a variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds from all over San Francisco. Based on the data we have, 62% of students meet the math proficiency standards and 77% meet the reading proficiency standards. This shows that literacy outcomes are relatively strong. Per-pupil funding is in line with SFUSD averages and helps pay for arts programs, classroom instruction, and enrichment activities.
