Miraloma Elementary is a public school in San Francisco, part of the SFUSD. It has kids from kindergarten to 5th grade – around 350 to 375 of them. With about 21 students per teacher, the school tries to mix individual help with group learning to a support class. They teach the usual stuff – reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. Plus, there are fun programs in art, gym, and learning how to handle feelings. Miraloma wants to help kids grow in every way, encouraging them to be curious, tough, and involved in their community. The school’s kids come from all over, with about 58% from varied backgrounds. About 62% are doing well in math and reading, which is better than what you see in some other places in California. The school gets money like other schools in the district, which helps pay for classes and support for students. People know Miraloma for its good schoolwork and friendly, community feel.
