Garfield Elementary is getting a makeover! The district is starting to plan improvements to the school buildings, making them safer and easier to get around. This is all thanks to bond money that's helping fix up schools in the Oakland and San Francisco areas.
Q1. Does Garfield Elementary School offer after-school programs?
Ans. Yes, the school offers after-school care and enrichment programs, but only if the district and partners are available.
Q2. Do multilingual learners have access to language support services?
Ans. Yes, students who are learning English can get help with English Language Development (ELD).
Q3. What can parents do to help out at school?
Ans. Parents can get involved by joining the PTA, volunteering, and going to school events and meetings.
Q4. Does the school offer services for students with special needs?
Ans. Yes, SFUSD and state laws require that special education services be available.
Q5. What grades at the school have to take standardized tests?
Ans. According to California rules, state tests usually start in the upper elementary grades.
