Being Updated
Westwood Elementary in San Diego is planning some cool changes for the 2025-26 school year, and everyone's talking about it! One thing is that kids in Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten will now be in school all day, just like the older kids. The school district is trying to make sure everyone gets the same amount of learning time. The school will introduce new assessments to identify students at risk of reading challenges, allowing teachers to provide targeted interventions.
Also, Westwood is getting better reading programs to help young kids learn to read. Teachers will use new ways to see if any kids are struggling, so they can get them extra help.
Westwood Elementary wants all kids to do well in school and have the same chances. Everyone thinks these changes will really help the little ones get a good start and grow as learners.
