About TRACE

TRACE (Transition Resources for Adult Community Education) is a special public school program for students in the San Diego Unified School District. It is known as one of the best schools for helping young adults aged 18 to 22 become more independent and ready for work. The program serves a very diverse group of people, with 87% of students being minorities and 82% being economically disadvantaged. It has a student-to-teacher ratio of about 15:1, which makes it one of the best schools for personalized, community-based instruction. TRACE's educational approach focuses on applying what students learn to real life. It combines life skills with career training and work experience in the community. Even though transition-focused milestones often replace traditional proficiency data, the school provides full support to make sure that students make a smooth transition to adult life. The program is well-known for being open to everyone and is held at different community sites in San Diego. Its main strengths are its dedication to giving students control and its promise to prepare people for meaningful participation in their communities, and it is one of the best high school in California.
