Being Updated
Sandburg Elementary was just named one of the top recycling schools in the San Diego Unified School District! For Earth Day, the students got 600 reusable water bottles to say thanks for all their hard work keeping things green. They won the district's recycling contest for elementary schools because the kids are seriously into taking care of the planet.
At a fun school event, the kids saw some shows about why recycling and cutting down on trash matters. It helped them remember what they’re learning in class about being good to the environment. The principal and teachers are super proud of how dedicated the students are and how they're inspiring others. They have events all year to get students learning outside of class. All this shows that the school wants to mix good grades with real-world experience and let students lead the way in helping the community.
