Latest News

Normal Heights Elementary School has been named a "All-Star" among San Diego Unified schools that are known for their health and wellness excellence. Normal Heights was one of only a few schools in the 2025 list of America's Healthiest Schools that met standards in nutrition and food access, physical education, school health services, staff well-being, and family involvement. This shows that the school is very committed to student health outside of school. These awards are part of a larger effort by the district to support the growth of all children, with a focus on both their physical and mental health in school communities.

The school also recently sent out a counseling newsletter that focused on social and emotional support, character traits like fairness and justice, and proactive programs like "The Great Kindness Challenge" to help students connect with each other and build a respectful school culture.
