See top schools in San DiegoMountain View is a public school in San Diego, California, that serves students in grades K–5 or K–8. The school has about 18 students for every teacher, which means that classes are small and students get more one-on-one attention. Mountain View focuses on basic math and reading skills and works to help students at all levels of learning. Recent data shows that about 22% of students are good at math and 27% are good at reading. This suggests that they may need more academic help in these areas. The students come from a wide range of ethnic and economic backgrounds, just like the rest of the San Diego community. The school gets money from the government and the district to help students learn and participate in enrichment programs, but they don't say how much they spend on each student. Mountain View is still committed to creating a welcoming and supportive school environment that encourages both academic and social growth.

Being Updated
Mountain View Elementary started the 2025-26 school year by giving props to their amazing staff and students! They gave out Educational Professional and Teacher of the Year awards to people who've worked hard to make the school awesome.
They also showed off the 5th-grade Safety Patrol. These kids are learning to be leaders and stay responsible around school.
Plus, Mountain View opened a cool new outdoor classroom! Kids can now get their hands dirty and learn about nature firsthand. And get this – the students are showing off some super cool projects they made through art and other fun stuff. It all goes to show how the school helps kids explore, think for themselves, and speak up.
Basically, Mountain View Elementary is doing everything it can to support teachers, encourage student leaders, and make learning great. Their main thing is to help kids become learners who are curious and ready for anything in the 2025-26 school year.
