Being Updated
Marshall Elementary School in San Diego is starting a new STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) program to get students more involved and help them learn by doing in all grades. The program has project-based units where students work together on robotics challenges, engineering design tasks, and creative art-integration projects that connect math and science ideas to things that happen in the real world. School leaders say the goal of the program is to make students more curious and help them think more critically.
Also, Marshall Elementary School recently held a family STEAM night where students showed off their projects and families took part in hands-on demonstrations. Teachers said that a lot of people from the community came to the event. They said that events like this help connect what kids learn at school with what they get at home.
