See top schools in San DiegoHigh Tech Elementary North County is a public charter school here in San Diego, California, for kids in kindergarten through fifth grade. It’s got around 350 students, with about 23 students for every teacher. So, classes aren't huge, which is cool because teachers can really help each student learn in their own way. They’re big on project-based learning and using tech. They push kids to work together, think hard, and solve problems. Besides the usual reading and math, they also get into STEM and STEAM stuff. Think coding, robotics, and science projects where they get to build and experiment themselves. As for how well the students are doing, scores show about 32% are doing well in math and 42% in reading. So, they’re still working on improving those basic skills. The school spends about average per student compared to other schools in the area, which helps them get what they need for classes and fun programs. High Tech Elementary North County is known for trying new things in the classroom and really getting kids involved in hands-on learning.

Being Updated
High Tech Elementary North County is getting good feedback for its project-based learning style, something that was easy to see at the student event not long ago. The kids showed off projects they built as part of classwork that mixed subjects and tied what they learned to stuff going on in the real world like history, the environment, and being part of their community. The event gave prominence to teamwork and problem-solving, which the school thinks is important for getting kids ready for life after elementary school. That means fixing up the drop-off spots and crosswalks. These changes should create a safer zone around the school as more kids enroll and the neighborhood gets busier.
Basically, High Tech Elementary North County is still working on new and fun ways for kids to learn and get involved. This gives them the support they need to do well in school and learn skills that will come in handy later.
