Being Updated
This winter, Florence Elementary is getting some buzz around town because they've launched a bigger reading program to help all students improve their reading skills. The program includes daily reading time, buddy reading, and new classroom libraries with all kinds of books. This gives students more chances to read stuff they find interesting and that relates to them. Teachers are saying the kids are way more into reading now that they're checking out different types of books and doing reading challenges together and on their own.
Besides reading, Florence Elementary also just had its yearly Winter Arts Exhibition. Students showed off their artwork, played music, and shared their writing. Lots of families came, which really helped connect the school and the community. School leaders think these events not only show off what the students can do but also build stronger relationships and make the school a better place.
