Being Updated
Everyone at Edison Elementary is pumped for the yearly Read-a-Thon this winter! Kids get to read all they want during the holiday break—it’s a fun reading thing. They can win little prizes and help get books added to their classrooms by raising cash. School leaders believe the Read-a-Thon helps kids love reading and keeps them learning when school's out. It gets them into good reading habits outside of class.
Edison Elementary has more planned than just the Read-a-Thon for winter. Like, when the students return in January, there will be parent meetings and field trips too. Teachers and staff are working hard to keep in close contact with parents and chat about things that help students grow and get involved in their community. The school wants to help its students become better readers and get their families on board, which shows they care about their students' success and being involved.
