Being Updated
As it gets ready for the 2025–26 school year as an official "Community School" under the San Diego Unified School District's expanded Community Schools program, Chesterton Elementary is getting a lot of good press. Chesterton will now have better student support services, more ways for students to learn, and more ways for families and neighborhoods to get involved. This is all thanks to extra money and resources that will help students do well in school and in life. This brings the total number of community schools in the district to 35.Chesterton is a community school that will give its diverse student body (almost half of whom come from military families) access to extra tutoring, wellness resources, integrated supports, and programs that are specifically designed to meet their needs.Teachers and parents are both excited about the chance, hoping that the program will help students do better in school and bring the Linda Vista community closer together.
