Latest News

This week, Carson Elementary, a long-standing STEAM Magnet school in the Linda Vista neighborhood, made the news when someone broke into the school overnight and stole several computers. Surveillance video showed a suspect breaking into a classroom, taking a few devices, and then escaping, leaving keyboards and broken furniture all over the campus. Police from the San Diego Unified School District and the San Diego Police Department, including K-9 teams, searched the area, but no one has been arrested yet. The next day, thankfully, classes went on as planned for students. District officials assured families that safety protocols are being reviewed and strengthened in response to the incident. The school community has come together, with parents and staff stressing the need to protect learning resources while still holding holiday events and the upcoming Winter Performance. District leaders are asking anyone who knows something to come forward as the investigations go on.
