Being Updated
Cabrillo???????????????? Elementary School is one of few schools in the San Diego Unified School District to attract positive attention recently by being the only school in the district to expand its Gifted and Talented Education(GATE) program up to 6th grade and also by integrating strategies in 6th grade.
Additionally, the school offers a GATE program that is a nurturing and challenging one in which teachers utilize advanced thinking tools and depth of knowledge strategies in order to provide enriched learning experiences not only for students formally identified as gifted but also for all students. According to school officials, such an approach, in their opinion, helps students acquire such essential skills.
Moreover, Cabrillo Elementary continues to focus on the community as well as on the academic side of the school and through various outreach programs that intend to make families feel comfortable and involved in school life.
