Being Updated
Barnard???????????????? Elementary School has been recognized by the San Diego Unified School District for its spectacular attendance improvement over the last academic year. The school leaders have reported that the attendance rates were going up gradually with more students making regular attendance compared to the years before. Teachers have explained that the successes should be the result of a mix of positive incentives, more family outreach work, and different kinds of support to students who are in long-term absences from school.
At a recent assembly, the families and staff had a good time celebrating the success which was the attendance of the students who were acknowledged for their efforts. Educators have mentioned that the normal classroom participation has brought smooth instruction and strong student relationships.
Barnard Elementary’s emphasis on attendance is closely related to its mission of academic success and creating a caring environment for learning.
