It offers specialized education to students in grades 9 through 12. It is the only high school in its district and is known for offering non-traditional paths to success. The academy has about 300 students and a student-to-teacher ratio of about 25:1. It takes a personalized and supportive approach that focuses on helping students recover credits and move forward in their studies. The Provisional Accelerated Learning (PAL) Academy has made it easier for students to get involved in the 2025–2026 school year. They just went to the Black College Expo and the HBCU All-Star Classic to help students find colleges all over the country. There is still work to be done on the Career Technical Education (CTE) pathways on campus. These pathways give students job training that helps them get industry certifications and prepare for state board licensure.
