Being Updated
Whitney Avenue, which serves the Whitney Avenue Elementary community, has been in the news lately because of safety talks and community petitions calling for safer routes and less traffic for students and families.
Q1. Are there programs at Whitney Avenue Elementary for kids to stay after school or before school?
Ans. The availability of programs before and after school may change from year to year. Most of the time, these programs are set up by school districts or community-based providers working together.
Q2: How does the school talk to parents and other adults?
Ans. The school sends out newsletters, makes automated calls, sends emails, and holds parent-teacher conferences to keep families up to date on school events and how their kids are doing in school.
Q3. Do kids have things to do when they're not in school?
Ans. Whitney Avenue Elementary might have some extracurricular activities, like clubs, assemblies, or enrichment activities, but only if there is enough staff and money.
Q4: Does the school help kids who need it?
Ans. Yes, the rules for the state and district say that students who are eligible for special education services and individualized support plans must get them.
Q5: How can families help the school community?
Ans. Parents and guardians can get involved by going to school events, volunteering, joining parent committees, and taking part in family engagement activities that happen during the school year.
Note: Schedules may change during school holidays. Please contact School for exact Schedule.
