A new addition to Great Western Elementary School's service on the campus is the opening of the Student Care Office, which will offer greater resources for student well-being and for families who wish to participate at the school. This is an example of a visible investment by the district in the support systems on campus.
Q1. What are some examples of extracurricular activities offered to students?
Ans. Typically, schools will offer enrichment classes, such as visual and performing arts and physical education, in addition to the occasional after-school activity (depending on what after-school activities have enough students and staff).
Q2. Is there transportation provided by the school?
Ans. Eligible students living within the designated boundaries of the district may be eligible for bus transportation, with bus stops/routes/availability determined by district transportation.
Q3. What type of access to technology are students provided?
Ans. Generally, teachers will use standard instructional technology as well as have access to Chromebooks and/or tablets.
Q4. How can parents get involved with the school?
Parents can be involved in their child’s school by volunteering, participating in school-sponsored events, and being a member of a volunteer organization such as a Parent/Teacher Organization (PTO).
Q5. Are there meal programs available at this school?
Ans. The school participates in district-sponsored nutrition programs and provides breakfast and lunch to students, with either free or reduced rates offered to qualifying families.
