Innovative Horizons Charter is still the most innovative K–8 school in the district thanks to its recent project-based learning showcases. The school's specialized AVID elementary curriculum is helping students get ready for jobs in the 21st century. Campus leaders held a community forum not too long ago to talk about updates to the facilities and plans for future growth.
Q1. Does Innovative Horizons Charter School charge an application fee?
Ans. There is no fee to apply or go to a public charter school, but there may not be enough space for everyone who wants to enroll.
Q2. Does Innovative Horizons Charter School have a regular school year?
Yes. The school follows the district's regular calendar, but it has special professional development days for its specialized staff.
Q3. What world languages are taught at Innovative Horizons Charter School?
Ans. As part of their elective rotation and college prep path, middle school students can learn some basic Spanish.
Q4. Is there a requirement for physical education at Innovative Horizons Charter School?
Ans. All students take part in daily physical education activities to stay healthy for life and meet state fitness standards.
Q5. Can students at Innovative Horizons Charter School take part in science fairs?
Ans. Every year, the school holds a STEAM showcase where students show off their original research projects to their classmates and judges from the community.
