The 2025 Summer Program will be hosted by Major Lynn Mokler Elementary, one of three Paramount Unified elementary schools. This program will take place June 9 – mid-July and include academic classes and enrichment activities from 7:30 am - 4:30 pm; field trips will be arranged and implemented through Think Together. There are 519 students that attend this local school, and the selection of this campus demonstrates the significance of the operating role that this campus plays within the district's larger network of academic support services.

Q1. What is Mokler's AVID program, and how does it work?

Ans. Mokler is an AVID certified school; we will teach our students how to take notes, organize their schoolwork, and develop an academic mindset from kindergarten up so that they will be able to do rigorous work in later grades.

Q2. Does Mokler provide Transitional Kindergarten?

Ans. Yes. Mokler provides Transitional Kindergarten for students whose fifth birthday will fall between September 2 and February 2. You can verify your child's eligibility by contacting Paramount Unified's Enrollment Office with proof of residency and your child's birth certificate.

Q3. What type of help can students access at Mokler if they need additional support to be successful academically?

Ans. Mokler does have Universal Access, which provides students with the opportunity to access differentiated instruction and targeted interventions (the students will be below grade level). If you are interested in learning more about what helps

Ans. Yes. Currently, there is a Visual and Performing Arts program offered at Mokler Elementary. Please contact Mokler directly for their current offerings and schedules.

Q5. How can parents notify Mokler about absences?

Ans. Parents may notify Mokler of absences through the school's office or through Parent Square. When there are too many days missed by students (10% or more of the required days), the school may refer the students to the state for chronic absenteeism.
