Abraham Lincoln School in Paramount has been awarded the best Elementary Schools badge for 2024–25, recognizing it as the top-ranked Title I elementary campus in Paramount Unified School District. The designation is based on combined state proficiency data across three consecutive school years. For a campus serving 509 students with 93% economically disadvantaged enrollment, the recognition positions Abraham Lincoln as a standout public elementary school in southeastern Los Angeles County.
Q1. Does Abraham Lincoln School provide a Gifted and Talented Education program?
Ans. The Abraham Lincoln School offers a running GATE program. Those who qualify are determined through a type of formal district referral process, in which teachers may recommend students based on their academic assessment data. Families that feel their child may qualify can speak to their child's teacher or contact the school office for additional information about how to refer their child.
Q2. What makes Abraham Lincoln the top-ranked school in the Paramount Unified School District?
Ans. Abraham Lincoln has the highest combined state proficiency scores of any Title I elementary school in the Paramount Unified School District, at 38% proficient in Mathematics and 47% proficient in Reading. Abraham Lincoln is the only campus in the district that has been awarded the World Report Best Elementary School award badge for the third consecutive year (2022/23 and 2022/23 & 2023/24).
Q3. How does Abraham Lincoln communicate with families?
Ans. ParentSquare is the primary school-to-home communication tool used by Abraham Lincoln School to communicate with families. Families will receive attendance notifications, school-wide notification updates, and individual classroom notifications from administrators and teachers via ParentSquare. Parents may access ParentSquare using their mobile devices or the web, and are encouraged to register for ParentSquare at the beginning of the school year.
Q4: Is there an after-school program at Abraham Lincoln School?
Ans. Yes, Abraham Lincoln participates in the Paramount Unified After-School Education and Safety Program through the partnership with Think Together. The after-school program offers an environment in which to receive academic assistance as well as participate in enrichment activities outside the regular school day, as well as receive a meal. Families should contact the school office for confirmation of open enrollment availability and hours of operation for the after-school program at Abraham Lincoln.
Q5: What is the enrollment process for families that are new to the Abraham Lincoln School attendance area?
Ans. Enrollment at Abraham Lincoln School is boundary-based, within the Paramount Unified School District. Families that live within the attendance area of Lincoln School should register through the District Enrollment Office; proof of residency, immunization, and prior school records will be required for enrollment. Families that do not reside within the Abraham Lincoln School boundary should inquire about Interdistrict Transfer applications through the District Office.
