The school has about 738 students in kindergarten through fifth grade and about 28 full-time teachers, which gives it a student-teacher ratio of 26:1, which is higher than the district average. Tamarisk Elementary teaches according to California state standards, with a focus on core subjects like English Language Arts (ELA), math, science, and social studies. The school has specific academic interventions and support programs to help students meet the standards for their grade level. U.S. News data show that 10% of students score at or above proficiency in math and 20% do the same in reading. This shows that there is still room for academic growth.
