The Rio School District recently held information meetings about its 2026 Dual Immersion Program. Families were invited to learn about bilingual learning opportunities for students at Rio Real and Rio Plaza schools.
Q1. Are there programs at Rio Real Elementary that kids can do before or after school?
Ans. Yes, the school offers a few before- and after-school programs, such as homework help and enrichment activities, but only if the district has the money and the staff to do so.
Q2. Do students at Rio Real Elementary get free meals?
Ans. Yes, the school takes part in federal and state nutrition programs that give students breakfast and lunch. Families that qualify can get free or reduced-price meals.
Q3. What does Rio Real Elementary do to help students who are learning English?
Ans. The school has programs for English learners that include targeted instruction and help with language development to help students do well in school and in other subjects.
Q4. Does the school want parents to be involved?
Ans. Yes, parents are welcome to help with school activities and student learning by going to school events, parent-teacher meetings, volunteering, and joining advisory committees.
Q5. Does Rio Real Elementary School offer counseling or help with social and emotional issues?
Ans. Yes, the school has counseling and social-emotional support services available to students. These services can be in the form of individual or group sessions, depending on the needs of the students and the staff available.
