The Rio School District recently held its 2025 Awards of Excellence and Kindergarten Promotion events. These events honored the accomplishments and milestones of students, and students and families from Rio del Sol and the rest of the Oxnard community were invited to take part.
Q1. Does Rio del Sol have programs for kids before or after school?
Ans. Yes, Rio del Sol has structured after-school support programs that help with homework, offer enrichment activities, and provide supervised care for working families. These programs are only available once a year and depend on district funding.
Q2. What languages can families who don't speak English as their first language use?
Ans. The school helps with bilingual communication by sending out notices and holding meetings in both English and Spanish to get families involved.
Q3. Is there a place on campus where students with special needs can get help?
Ans. Yes, Rio del Sol follows state and federal rules when it comes to special education services, such as individualized education programs (IEPs).
Q4: What does the school do to help students come to class and stay interested?
Ans. To get kids to come to school regularly and take part, the school uses attendance tracking, family outreach, and programs that reward good behavior.
Q5. Does Rio del Sol encourage parents to get involved?
Ans. Yes, parents are encouraged to get involved in school events, advisory groups, and volunteer opportunities that help students learn and make the school a better place to be.
