In October 2025, Curren Elementary was named a model for safe and supportive schools in Ventura County. This was part of district-wide celebrations of academic growth and showed how the school had a positive climate and cared about the well-being of its students.
Q1. Does Curren Elementary have things to do or programs after school?
Ans. Yes, the school offers after-school programs that may include help with homework, fun activities, and supervised care, depending on what is available in the district.
Q2. Are there services for kids who need extra help?
Ans. Curren Elementary has special education programs and other support services for students who need extra help with schoolwork or development.
Q3. What does the school do to help students who are learning English?
Ans. The school teaches English Language Development and gives English Learners strategies for the classroom to help them improve their language skills while still meeting grade-level standards.
Q4. What chances do parents have to get involved?
Ans. Parents can get involved by going to parent-teacher conferences, school events, volunteering, and talking to teachers and staff on a regular basis.
Q5. What kinds of safety measures are in place on campus?
Ans. Curren Elementary keeps the campus safe by having supervised entry points, emergency drills, staff monitoring, and working with district safety personnel.
