Pine Grove Elementary School is located at 1050 Rice Ranch Road in Orcutt. It serves 452 students in grades K–6. The student–teacher ratio is 25:1. Math proficiency is 53% and reading proficiency is 51%. The gender mix is 50% male and 50% female. The school stresses the importance of taking responsibility for one's actions and treating others with respect. Staff members work closely with students to make sure that everyone is polite and kind on campus. The building is in a quiet part of the city where people live. A steady and patient way of teaching is used to give students an education. The school stresses how important it is to be a good citizen and help others in the classroom. Students at Pine Grove Elementary were excited to see a "Mobile Dairy Classroom" assembly. There, they met a real Jersey cow and learned about nutrition from the farm to the table. The first graders drew pictures and wrote short stories after the fun event to help them remember what they had learned. This fun learning event is part of the school's plan to give students new and interesting ways to learn.
