Being Updated
The district recently organized an art exhibit at Trajan Elementary showcasing the art created by students in grades TK-12. The exhibit was a reflection of a variety of artists' creativity from elementary, middle and high schools in the district. An art exhibition is an excellent opportunity for students to display their artwork to their community and gain confidence and creativity as young artists.
Q1. Does Trajan Elementary School offer volunteer opportunities for parents?
Ans. School principals in the San Juan Unified School District actively encourage parent/guardian participation in schools. Many parents/guardians may volunteer to help facilitate student activities (classroom activities, school-wide events, and other special programs, as available). Parents/guardians' involvement helps to build greater connections between the community and school.
Q2. Is Trajan Elementary School hosting events to bring families onto campus?
Ans. Trajan Elementary and other San Juan Unified School District schools will host many events throughout the school year, including open houses, family nights, seasonal celebrations, and student performances. At these events, families have a chance to build relationships with their child's teacher, view their child's schoolwork, and stay connected to the school community.
Q3. What additional services might be available for students in need of help?
Ans. Depending on the student's needs, some public elementary schools may offer various types of support services for students. For example, elementary schools may offer small group instruction, learning support programs, and/or support services from specialized staff to assist the student in being successful in achieving their educational goals.
Q4. Do students have a chance to get involved in extra-curricular activities with their peers?
Ans. Most elementary schools provide non-academic enrichment options for students to pursue outside of what they learn every day. Some examples of the types of activities that might be offered at the school depending on class size, teacher availability, etc. would include after-school programs, community service projects, or any type of activity designed to cultivate teamwork and stimulate curiosity!
Q5. How do schools such as Trajan keep families informed about school happenings?
Ans. Schools normally notify parents via newsletters, websites, electronic messaging systems, or through parent-teacher conferences. All these methods provide parents with important information about upcoming school events, what is happening in their child's class, and other important school updates.
Note: Schedules may change during school holidays. Please contact School for exact Schedule.
