At Corona Elementary, a new initiative was recently established to improve student attendance across all grades has recently been implemented and is being recognized by the District for greater student engagement than during the previous reporting period. Additionally, there were School-Wide STEM Immersion Days in which students were able to participate in experiential learning through hands-on activities based on the principles of science. Both the drone and the videos confirm, that student engagement levels increased, thus demonstrating the school's dedication to experiential learning and ongoing student attendance on a daily basis.
Q1. What methods does Corona Elementary employ to help students that learn at different rates?
A. We use small group instruction and differentiated instruction to accommodate students.
Q2. Is health and wellness education offered?
A. All classrooms will incorporate age-appropriate health and wellness lessons into their lessons.
Q3. What does the school do to address student attendance issues?
A. Families are contacted as soon as possible, and a plan of action is created when needed.
Q4. Are students encouraged to work together?
A. Students commonly do collaborative learning and engage in group work.
Q5. How can parents provide feedback to the school?
A. Parents may complete surveys, attend meetings, and obtain information directly from school staff.
