Being Updated
Families at Lynwood Elementary are now reading the "Inclusive Insights" family newsletter. It tells parents how to help their child do well in school and get through the IEP process. The school is still a big part of the district's dual immersion program, which teaches kids to read and write in two languages at the same time. Staff members are also working with the Marin County Free Library to set up "Homework Helper" sessions for kids who need more help with their homework after school.
Q1. Does Lynwood Elementary School have a program for new students that teaches them both English and Spanish?
Ans. Students can learn to read and write in both English and Spanish on a special track at the school.
Q2. What time does the library at Lynwood Elementary School open for students to trade books?
Ans. Once a week, students go to the library with their class, and they can also go there in the morning during set hours.
Q3. What does Lynwood Elementary School do to keep students safe during the morning valet drop-off?
Ans. To keep traffic moving smoothly, staff and volunteers help students get out of cars at the curb.
Q4. Does Lynwood Elementary School have after-school clubs that teach coding or art?
Ans. The PTA often sets up seasonal clubs for students who are interested, such as chess, digital art, and basic computer programming.
Q5. How can parents help with the English Learner Advisory Committee at Lynwood Elementary School?
Ans. Every three months, meetings are held so that parents of English learners can give feedback on school programs and how the budget is spent.
