On Thursday, February 26, 2026, all of the students at Darby Avenue Elementary will have their Spring Picture Day. The Darby Ave PTA wants people to run for the Executive Board for the school year 2026–2027. On March 20, people will vote. On February 19, parents and staff are invited to the regular Board of Education meeting to learn about changes in the district that will affect the community.
Q1. Is there a school mascot at Darby Avenue Elementary?
Ans. The Dragon is the school mascot. It stands for the strength and spirit of the students during events on campus.
Q2. What does the "Dragon Dollar" system do at Darby Avenue Elementary?
Ans. This program encourages good behavior by letting students earn paper money for doing good deeds. They can then use that money to buy prizes at the school store.
Q3. How does Darby Avenue Elementary School get fathers involved in school?
Ans. The "Watch D.O.G.S." program encourages fathers and father figures to volunteer on campus for a day as good role models.
Q4. Does Darby Avenue Elementary School have a talent show every year?
Ans. Every spring, students are invited to show off their special talents in a professional-style show for their families and friends.
Q5. Are there any special reading programs at Darby Avenue Elementary?
Ans. The school uses Accelerated Reader to help students develop the habit of reading on their own and check how well they understand what they read through interactive digital quizzes.
