After hosting recent registration help nights for new and returning families, Mariano Castro Elementary is now focused on planning for the 2026–2027 school year. After the second trimester ends in February, the school keeps getting students ready for state-required tests. The latest "Better Together" monthly theme for March's campus updates focuses on equity and inclusion across the district.
Q1. Does Mariano Castro Elementary help new families sign up?
Ans. The school has special help nights where staff members help parents with the online registration process and the paperwork that must be filled out to enroll.
Q2. How does Mariano Castro Elementary keep track of how well students are doing?
Ans. Teachers use tests at the end of each trimester and at the middle of the year to see how students are doing and change their lessons to meet their needs.
Q3. What is "Mariano Castro Elementary's" policy on volunteers in the classroom?
Ans. To help with school events and projects, volunteers must pass a background check and go to a safety orientation.
Q4. Does Mariano Castro Elementary have any community festivals that celebrate different cultures?
Ans. The school puts on cultural heritage celebrations where students and their families bring food and traditions from their different parts of the world.
Q5. Does Mariano Castro Elementary have any coding or STEM programs?
Ans. Students take part in the "Hour of Code" and use different digital platforms to learn the basics of computer science and logic.
