Being Updated
In December 2025, Bethany Elementary welcomed a new community feature to the area that thrilled many students and families. Bethany's pirate-themed playground opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by local officials. Families and surrounding community members were invited to share in this celebration. A third-grade class from Bethany was one of the first groups to be invited to experience the new play structure, which offers climbing nets, rope bridges, and other features designed for active play. This event demonstrated the continuing strong ties between the school and the neighboring community and provided a new recreational space for students after school hours.
Q1. Does Bethany Elementary provide after-school programs/activities for students?
Ans. Bethany Elementary offers various opportunities for extracurricular activities: clubs; enrichment programs; activities that take place during certain times throughout the school year. In addition, there may be other activities. Some of these will be determined by student interests.
Q2. Are there after-school programs for families?
Ans. Many families use after-school supervision or enrichment programs offered either through the school or the local community's partners. The number of students enrolled at any given time and the demand for the program may affect availability and scheduling from year to year.
Q3. How can parents receive updates from the school about events/announcements?
Ans. Generally, parents receive periodic updates about their student through the school's newsletter, through district communication system (the system is available to parents to see) as well as through the school's internet resources - including the school's calendar of events, announcements, etc - which are continuously updated.
Q4. Are there ways to support parent engagement?
Ans. Yes, there are many ways to allow parents to become involved in their child's education, including the opportunity for volunteering, attending school events and being involved in parent groups such as the parent-teacher organizations (PTOs) that assist with providing services to parents and their child.
Q5. What type of transportation options will be available to students?
Ans. Transportation available to students will be determined by district protocols and proximity to the school. Some students utilize district transportation while other students walk, and/or their parent provides drops-off or picks-up their child.
