Bella Vista Elementary School, located in Monterey Park, is accepting applications for its Mandarin Language immersion program under their Dual Language Immersion Academy. This program allows students the chance to learn all academics through bilingual education in both Mandarin Chinese and English.
Many families have shown interest in early immersion language opportunities through the Dual Language Immersion (DLI) Academy at Bella Vista. This year, Bella Vista has highlighted this program as one of their major academic Fortune indicators.
Q1. Do before school, or after school programs exist at Bella Vista Elementary School?
Ans. Parents interested in before school, after school programs should contact the school office, and/or the Montebello Unified School District to inquire as to what programs are being offered and if spots are available.
Q2. What types of extracurricular activities can a student participate in at Bella Vista Elementary School?
Ans. Most elementary schools in the Montebello Unified School District offer a variety of activities including student clubs, art programs, and events related to academics/enrichment at various times throughout the year.
Q3. Are students enrolled at Bella Vista Elementary School provided with transportation, i.e. school bus service?
Ans. Transportation for students in grades K-6 is dependent upon district policy and student eligibility. Parents need to contact Montebello Unified School District transportation to verify if transportation is available and if their child is eligible.
Q4. What measures are in place for student safety at Bella Vista Elementary School?
Ans. Bella Vista Elementary follows the same security procedures as the majority of other public schools within the district. Examples of some of these procedures may include: controlling access to the campus; obtaining visitor identification when checking in at the office; practicing emergency drills at various times of the school year.
Q5. How do parents communicate with school staff, teachers, and other school personnel?
Ans. The two most common methods parents communicate with teachers include calling or sending emails or setting up an appointment to have a meeting.
