See top schools in MercedValley Los Banos Community is one of the best public schools run by the Merced County Office of Education. It serves students in grades 9 through 12 and offers important educational services. The school is known for being one of the best places to learn in a different way. It has a small campus with about 30 to 50 students and a student-to-teacher ratio of about 12:1. This makes it possible to give each student a very personalized education that fits their own path. There are 94% minorities in the student body, and 86% of the students are from low-income families. The most recent data shows that only 7% of students are reading at grade level. The school is still working on improving core skills in all subjects. Valley Los Banos Community is known as one of the best schools because it works hard to get students back into school and make a difference in the community. Its main strengths are creating a strong school environment and giving all kinds of students the tools they need to do well in school and in their future careers, and it is one of the best high school in California.

The Public Safety Program at Valley Los Banos Community School was recently named a National Program of Excellence by the Law and Public Safety Education Network. This was because it had a hard curriculum and was dedicated to preparing students for careers in law enforcement. In February 2026, the school also held the second annual John Sykes III Memorial Basketball Tournament. People from all over the area, including students and community members, came together for a day of sports and togetherness.
