George Washington Elementary School in Madera, California, is making waves because it is the first dual-language school to be named a Promising Practices Learning Community at Work. The school's strong commitment to the PLC at Work process has helped students learn more in both English and Spanish. Students also did a great job at the International Day celebration, where they showed off cultures from around the world through dance and other performances. At the Board Meeting, the school also recognized student accomplishments, with a focus on academic excellence.

Ans. Coursework allows for flexible pacing, with teachers checking in on students from time to time.
Q2. How does the school help new students who start in the middle of the year?
Ans. George Washington Elementary helps kids get used to new places by giving them orientation help and introductions to other kids.

Ans. Yes, conferences are planned every year and on request.

Ans. Lessons are meant to be fun and interactive so that students can learn while building strong basic skills.

Ans. George Washington Elementary helps students understand things by giving them lessons that are organized, guided instruction, and regular feedback. Teachers tell their students to practice and get help on a regular basis so that they can build their confidence, get better at what they do, and develop good study habits over time.
