Westside Union Elementary is getting ready for a lot of new students next year because it will take over almost all of Los Banos Elementary's current boundaries. The school just finished grading for the second trimester and is now getting ready for the last part of the school year. The administration is currently holding virtual presentations to help new families through the process of enrolling more students and moving to a new school.
Q1. Why does Westside Union Elementary think it will get a lot of new students next year?
Ans. As part of a district-wide reorganization, the school will get most of the current Los Banos Elementary boundaries.
Q2. Does Westside Union Elementary School have virtual presentations for families?
Ans. The school provides digital sessions to help new and transitioning families navigate the expanded enrollment and school-change process.
Q3. What does "Westside Union Elementary" do to help students read and write?
Ans. Teachers use a balanced literacy framework that includes small group reading lessons that are tailored to each student's level.
Q4. Is there a separate media center at Westside Union Elementary?
Ans. The school has a modern library and computer lab where students use digital resources and research materials every week.
Q5: How can parents become members of the Westside Union Elementary School Site Council?
Ans. Parents are welcome to run for council seats to help the principal set academic goals for the school.
