This March, Grasslands Elementary is celebrating Read Across America Week with a number of fun literacy activities for all "Mighty Ducks" students. On March 12, the school will hold an informational night for parents of sixth graders to talk about the upcoming outdoor education trip. Also, there will be an ELAC meeting in the middle of the month to talk about student support services and planning at the site level.
Q1. What is the "Mighty Ducks" tradition at Grasslands Elementary?
Ans. This is the school mascot and students participate in Duck-themed spirit days to build a strong campus community.
Q2. Does Grasslands Elementary host an outdoor education camp?
Ans. Sixth-grade students attend an annual multiday science camp to learn about nature and environmental conservation in California.
Q3. How can parents join the Grasslands Elementary English Learner Advisory Committee?
Ans. Parents of multilingual learners can volunteer during the fall meetings to help advise the principal on student services.
Q4. Does Grasslands Elementary have a dedicated music program?
Ans. Students in upper grades can participate in instrumental music lessons for various wind and string instruments twice weekly.
Q5. What technology is available to students at Grasslands Elementary?
Ans. The campus maintains a one-to-one laptop ratio to ensure all students have access to digital literacy tools daily.
