In 2026, Magnet Schools of America named Sotomayor Arts and Sciences Magnet in Los Angeles a "Magnet School of Distinction." This was a big deal for the school. The award shows that the school has strong academic programs and is dedicated to new ways of learning in the arts, sciences, and technology. This makes students, teachers, and the whole school community proud.

Ans. There are arts clubs, student leadership groups, and academic clubs at the school that help students with their creative and intellectual interests outside of class.

Ans. Yes, the school usually offers college and career counseling to help students get ready for college and their future jobs.

Ans. The district may offer transportation options, but they may not be available to everyone or may only be available to people who meet certain distance and eligibility requirements.

Ans. Students may have the chance to do community service and work on projects with others that link what they learn in school to what they do in the real world.
Q5. What do students need to do to get into Sotomayor Arts and Sciences Magnet?
Ans. To get in, you usually have to fill out an application through the Los Angeles Unified School District's magnet or school choice program.
