Crete Academy in Los Angeles, California, is changing the lives of its students for the better! The school wants to help students love themselves, enjoy learning, and make a difference in their community. Crete Academy uses a holistic education model to give students the skills, confidence, and compassion they need to do well in the 21st century.
The school has a lot of different programs to meet the needs of all its students. These include the Transitional Kindergarten, Crete Enrichment Program, Harmony Program, and Gifted and Talented Program. Hattie Mitchell, the founder, wants to break the cycle of poverty by giving kids the tools and knowledge they need to succeed. The LA Times and other publications have praised the school for its dedication to helping homeless and low-income youth.
