About Compton Avenue Elementary

Los Angeles, California, is a big city, and Compton Avenue Elementary is a public school there. It teaches kids in kindergarten through fifth grade. There are about 270 students and 15 full-time teachers at the school. This means that there is one teacher for every 18 students. This is better than what most people in the district do. In the class, 47% of the students are girls and 53% are boys. 95% of the students come from families with low incomes. When it came to schoolwork, 37% of students did well in math and 22% did well in reading. This shows how hard it is to help a lot of people who need a lot of things. Compton Avenue Elementary teaches the basics according to California standards and helps students learn through targeted programs and interventions that connect them to the community. There are a lot of students from different backgrounds at the school, which makes it a friendlier and more culturally rich place. The school is in the middle of Los Angeles, which means it can use city resources and get involved in the community.
