Being Updated
The School Community of Laguna Niguel Elementary School has recognized the school's counseling leadership by designating the counselor and PBIS Coordinator as Teacher of the Year for the 2024-2025 school year because of the school’s support programs for the well-being of students and its Positive Behavior Initiative (PBI) programs. Recognition related to these school services and programs was transmitted to the school community through its communication systems and celebrated the impact the counselor has had on the Laguna Niguel Elementary School culture and the student support programs.
Q1. What extra-curricular options are provided by the school to its students?
Ans. The school now has a wide range of enrichment activities available to its students. These activities may include enrichment clubs, arts & crafts activities, seasonal celebrations, etc., that are designed to enhance and support the learning activities of the classroom. These activities may vary each year based on the leadership of staff members and the level of participation of students. However, most enrichment activities provide opportunities for creativity, collaboration, and student engagement beyond the traditional curriculum.
Q2. How does the school communicate with parents/guardians?
Ans. Generally, teachers and administrators provide updates to families through various means, including newsletters, email, and district communication systems. These means of communication allow families to receive information & announcements about classroom events, school events, and reminders about academic progress.
Q3. Does the school provide after-school care for families?
Ans. Many of the elementary schools in the area offer additional enrichment/afterschool programs operated through the district for students that remain at school after school regular dismissal hours. These programs typically include structured & supervised activities and homework assistance for students.
Q4. What kinds of student assistance services may be offered?
Ans. Support services include counseling, learning assistance, and specialized instruction for the children who require extra academic assistance. Schools generally coordinate these services through trained staff members who work closely with teachers and parents to assist in the academic progress of students.
Q5.In what ways do parents participate in school programs/activities?
Ans. Volunteer opportunities, school events, and parent-teacher organizations all provide parents with the ability to participate in school programs/activities and provide support of the school programs as a group.
